Unzählige Fans klingelten täglich an unserer Tür in der Hoffnung, die Studios besuchen zu dürfen. Leider mussten wir dies aufgrund laufender Produktionen und dem Schutz der Privatsphäre unserer Künstler oft ablehnen. Dennoch wollten wir eine Lösung finden.

Deshalb vertrauen wir seit mehr als 20 Jahren auf Berlin Music Tours, die exklusive öffentliche und private Führungen durch das Hansa Musikhaus organisieren und anbieten – für alle Musikfans und -liebhaber, die von der Magie und den Geschichten hinter den Kulissen dieser besonderen Räume begeistert sind.

Unter der Leitung unseres langjährigen und vertrauensvollen Guides Thilo Schmied ermöglicht diese ausgedehnte, mehr als 3-stündige Führung die Entdeckung der ehemaligen und aktuellen Studiobereiche im Hansa Musikhaus, wie Studio 1 und die ehemaligen Studios 2 und 3 (heute der Meistersaal und die Emil Berliner Studios).

Thilo, the guide, is like a walking encyclopedia of the 70s, 80s and 90s music, it was so nice to hear him tell stories about the building’s history and the famous records that were created at the studio. At some point, he played Heroes for us in the Meistersaal, and I almost cried 🥹 If you’re a David Bowie or Depeche Mode fan, this tour will be an almost religious experience for you, and it’s worth every cent.

This isn't just a standard walking tour; it’s an immersive, deeply moving journey through the city via the lens of the Berlin Trilogy (Low, "Heroes", and Lodger). The guide is a total legend whose knowledge is second to none. We even ended up bonding over drinks at Neues Ufer in the evening, which really captured the authentic spirit of Bowie’s Berlin. What truly sets this apart is the follow-up; the guide sent over a mind-blowing, comprehensive list of books, documentaries, and rare clips to keep the experience going long after the walk ended. I don't know much about the bands who recorded there (just Bowie) and I wasn't sure how a 4 hour tour would pan out... but my 18 year old son (who does know music!) was very keen. So we went - and what a treat! Thilo knows just about everything there is to know, but not only that he's also an exceptional tour guide. He must have given this tour hundreds of times but it didn't feel like it. He understands that people want to look, and take pictures, and soak it in, and he lets you do all that. He taught us about music, but also social history, politics, geography - I learned so much from the afternoon. The highlight was definitely hearing Heroes play in the room where it was recorded, but all of it was magical.

Die Bowie Walking Tour von Berlin Music Tours war für uns eines der absoluten Highlights unseres letzten Berlin-Besuchs – und ich kann sie wirklich jedem empfehlen, der sich für Musik, Geschichte oder einfach für die besondere Atmosphäre der Stadt interessiert. Unser Guide Jacob war schlichtweg großartig. Mit unglaublich viel Wissen, Begeisterung und einem tollen Gespür für Storytelling hat er uns durch die Berliner Stationen von David Bowies Zeit in der Stadt geführt. Man merkt sofort, dass er nicht nur Fakten herunterbetet, sondern die Musik und die Geschichte wirklich lebt. Seine Erzählungen über Bowies Berliner Jahre, die Zusammenarbeit mit Iggy Pop und die kreative Energie dieser Zeit waren faszinierend und voller spannender Details. Besonders beeindruckend war, wie Jacob historische Hintergründe, Musikgeschichte und persönliche Anekdoten miteinander verknüpft hat. Dadurch wurde die Tour viel mehr als nur ein Spaziergang – sie fühlte sich eher wie eine Reise in eine der kreativsten Phasen der Popgeschichte an. Die ausgewählten Orte waren perfekt – ikonische Spots, spannende Geschichten und immer wieder kleine musikalische Gänsehaut-Momente. Man sieht Berlin danach wirklich mit anderen Augen. Fazit: Eine hervorragend organisierte Tour, voller Leidenschaft und Insiderwissen – und mit Jacob als Guide einfach unschlagbar. Vielen Dank für dieses großartige Erlebnis!

Jacob was an incredible guide for this detailed, delightful, and surprisingly moving walking tour of David Bowie and Iggy Pop's time together (and apart!) in Berlin. It's a fun and unique way to see the city and put yourself in the shoes of two of the world's very best musicians at a time and place that was both generative and set on the edge. I cannot recommend Jacob's tour enough...he is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough.

Iltapäivällä 4-5 tunnin Bowie Walk Tour. Mahtava! David Bowien Berliinin-vuodet (1976–1979) ovat yksi rock-historian myyttisimmistä ja luovimmista aikakausista. Asuinpaikka Bowie asui Schönebergin kaupunginosassa osoitteessa Hauptstraße 155. Kyseessä oli vaatimaton, hieman rähjäinenkin kerrostaloasunto, mikä sopi hyvin hänen tavoitteeseensa elää tavallista elämää. Alakerrassa sijaitsi Bowien kantapaikka, Andere Ufer -baari (nykyisin Neues Ufer). Lähipiiri ja tutut Iggy Pop: Bowien läheisin kumppani tuolloin. Iggy asui samassa talossa (ja ajoittain samassa asunnossa) ja he pyrkivät yhdessä vieroitukseen päihteistä. Brian Eno: Keskeinen musiikillinen yhteistyökumppani, joka toi mukanaan kokeelliset menetelmät ja syntetisaattorimaailmat. Tony Visconti: Luottotuottaja, joka auttoi luomaan Berliini-trilogian omaleimaisen soundin. Had a great afternoon with Jacob very insightful and helped me to understand and love a subject that I thought I already knew pretty well. Logistics were a bit tough due to tube strikes and repairs so lots more walking than we expected. But other than that a perfect day (to borrow a Lou Reed line that has nothing to do with Berlin!)
